Tourism Continues its Growth in the Philippines...

New figures show that Philippines tourism continues to boost the country's economy, and with this, employment in the sector has continued to rise.

Despite the six-month closure of popular Boracay, between April and October 2018 when the island's infrastructure was upgraded, tourism increased to 12.7% of the Philippines’ Gross Domestic Product. This was a 0.5% increase from the previous year.

Correspondingly, employment in the tourism sector rose by almost 2% - to 5.4 million.
