Ten Features of the Official Logo

1. 2021 will mark 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines. The logo above has been produced to mark this celebration.

2. The overall colour scheme has been designed to reflect the colours of the Philippine Flag.

3. The bold cross, an established Christian sign, also represents the strong mast of a sailing ship.

4.The Ship itself is a nod to the sailors who first brought the Christian faith to the Philippines.

5. The flash of blue is a reflection of several different aspects, including the Holy Spirit represented in a form of a dove.

6. The central graphic shows two figures, and is based on the painting of Fernando Amorsolo, entitled “First Baptism in the Philippines”.

7. The yellow background is taken from the Philippine flag, and similarly is a representation of the sun.

8. The red coloured fish (or “Ichthus”) symbolises Jesus. Early Christians would use this icon to introduce themselves to fellow Christians.

9. The blue beads represent the Holy Rosary.

10. The bold accented brown lines at the base indicate the hand of God.
